Gulf Coast Village announces three new hires

Gulf Coast Village is pleased to welcome Jimmy Grimes, Sofia Mendez-Bork and Tammy Thompson to its leadership team. Grimes will serve as Assisted Living Administrator, Mendez-Bork as Human Resources Manager- Clinical, and Thompson as Human Resources Manager- Non-Clinical for the Gulf Coast Village community.

Grimes has more than 15 years of experience in health care management for senior living, and has recently moved to cape coral from Indiana. Grimes studied at Southwest University in Springfield, Missouri, and first began his career in senior living health care management in Jefferson City, Missouri. His experience includes independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing services, including specialized Memory Support and Alzheimer’s care communities. In addition to his Administrator’s license, Grimes held a Health Facility Preceptor license in Indiana, and was certified by The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America as a Qualified Dementia Care Provider.

Mendez-Bork brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources within the health care field. A graduate of Calumet College of Saint Joseph in Whiting, Indiana, she achieved an associate’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in organization management. In addition, Mendez-Bork holds a certification from the Society of Human Resources Management. Prior to joining Gulf Coast Village, she served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Physician Recruiter for a nonprofit health care organization in Indiana, achieving strategic growth through innovative management career tracks as well as being an active member of the executive team. She has also served in various leadership roles within Northwest Indiana, overseeing human resources, information technology, risk management, and safety and security. Mendez-Bork has shared her aptitude for human resources while serving as chair for various committees and the Emergency Response Team.

Thompson recently relocated to Florida from Fort Collins, Colorado, where she served the City of Greeley as Human Resources Analyst Compensation and Training. Thompson received her bachelor’s degree in human resources and master’s in corporate education from Colorado Christian University. Thompson is actively involved in children’s ministries at her local church and enjoys spending time with her family.
