Gulf Coast Village to host free memory support event at Palmview Nov. 1
CAPE CORAL, Fla. (Oct. 3, 2017) – Gulf Coast Village is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to host a memory support event on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Palmview, the new assisted living and memory support residences at Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral. With the goal of spreading awareness and educating those on Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related disorders, the event will feature four memory support life-skill stations where participants can schedule 30-minute appointments to learn more about memory loss and assess whether they are at risk for developing Alzheimer’s or dementia.
During the free, educational mobile event, participants will receive information on Alzheimer’s and additional community resources for those with memory loss. Care consultations will be available for caregivers, and professionals from the Alzheimer’s Association will also teach guests the 10 signs for spotting early symptoms of dementia. Following the memory mobile event, there will be an open house for Palmview where refreshments and tours will be provided.
